Kri Skincare is a frequent feature here on The ecoLogical, and I always have a little stock of their vegan friendly formulations in my skincare cupboard.  I am a huge fan of their radiance serum, squalane face cream, and oil to milk cleanser, and I'm always recommending the range to those seeking out products that will suit even the most sensitive skin.

So when I heard there was another new launch, of course I was excited and intrigued!  Everything I have tried from Kri Skincare has been lovely, gentle, and effective, so when a kindly gifted little parcel landed at my door I was thrilled to bits at the chance to try the Vitamin C + Bakuchiol treatment so soon!

For those of you who are not familiar with Kri Skincare, this is a natural beauty brand that focuses on sustainability and integrity.  Formerly known as Guiltless Skin, the entirety of the range is created so your skincare routine is guiltless, and the new branding comes from the Sanskrit term meaning "to make, to do, to prepare."  As creators of skincare, this perfectly captures their mission.  From their certified organic ingredients to their facility in Essex, every aspect of the business is aimed at minimizing the impact on the planet while also supporting the skin's natural processes rather than covering up or distracting from the needs at hand.

All of their formulations are vegan, made with biodegradable raw materials, and are of course cruelty free.  Plus, they have loads of products that are totally free from essential oils, making it easy for those with skin sensitivities to shop with confidence!

The latest treatment to launch is no different - the Vitamin C + Bakuchiol oil is a blend of just four ingredients, all of which have been chosen for the efficacy, non-irritating qualities, and the way in which they pair together.

Inside the bottle you'll find watermelon seed oil, raspberry seed oil, 1% bakuchiol (a natural retinol alternative), and 10% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (THDA).  The oils work together to provide an antioxidant and linoleic acid rich solution that doesn't clog pores or lead to breakouts, while bakuchiol helps improve the appearance of the skin, smoothing the complexion and minimizing the appearance of fine lines.  Add in brightening THDA, a super stable and gentler form of Vitamin C that is oil soluble (meaning it won't begin to break down when you apply, making this potent for longer!) and you have a formulation that is ready to get you glowing and radiant in no time!

Kri Skincare's Vitamin C + Bakuchiol is a lovely pale but luminous yellow shade that is both inviting and cheerful, and I like how it captures the delicate nature of the product.  This isn't an ultra-rich formulation, but is rather a fast absorbing creation that leaves your skin feeling nourished without making it slick or greasy.  It's the perfect balance, and I find this texture makes it ideal for daytime!  I really can't bear heavy oils or creams in the morning, so this treatment has got it just right.  Plus I can even mix it in with my moisturizer if I want to - yay!

In terms of scent, I will admit I was not super keen on it at first.  The aroma is a little tart, but over time I also learned to appreciate the light sweetness that lingers beneath the surface.  These softer notes really balance out the scent, and I began to enjoy the unique smell as I continued to incorporate the Vitamin C + Bakuchiol into my daily skincare routine.

I've been using this treatment for many weeks now, and I definitely have noticed my complexion looks more even and bright - no more dull tired looking skin!  There hasn't been any irritation, redness, or sensitivity developing while applying or wearing the oil, and it really does feel gentle which was a relief - I often find actives can cause problems for me, so this is one product I can use without stressing!

The Vitamin C + Bakuchiol leaves my skin feeling really nicely moisturized, and I find it quite soothing as well (especially now the radiators are coming on!).  It definitely gives a replenished look to my face, and I like how soft and smooth it feels.  Overall it's a great blend, and I think it is the perfect time of year to be using a formula like this consistently.
