Desavery Skincare:

A brand with a mission to create products that boost skin health and mood with the power of plants, Desavery supplies skinimalist treatments for those seeking to greenify their routine.  Launched in 2018 by founder Andrea Dinnick, the goal was to share the beauty of pure plant ingredients.

This vegan friendly organic direct to consumer business produces small batches in house and focuses on responsible sourcing of ingredients, a simple but effective three step routine, and wellbeing benefits provided by natural essential oils.  Andrea states she wanted to ""create skincare products that are like good food: unprocessed, highly nutritious, organic, fresh and sourced from the best growers and producers from around the world."  And from what I have seen, she has certainly achieved this goal!

"We have found so many people nowadays get sucked into the world of skincare and beauty and think they need so many different products but really all you're doing is clogging up your skin, leading to outbreaks and damaging it. We created a 3 step skincare routine to simplify and debunk the myths that you need to use product upon product to look your best. We feel that slowly people now (especially after Covid) are realising they don't actually need all these products and want something that's simple, time efficient, effective and makes you look great and feel good."

I had the joy of testing out two products from the range during 2021's Beauty Shortlist Awards, and when Desavery reached out asking if I would be interested in trying a few more I just had to say yes!  This eco-luxe skincare collection is one you can't pass on, and so I was thrilled to get to experience more vegan and cruelty free goodness.

Desavery Minimalist Beauty Range:

The lineup includes a trio of serums (uplifting, deeply nourishing, and ultra gentle), plus a softening body oil, lush oil cleanser, and hydrating hyaluronic acid.  When combined, they offer bright, plump, replenished skin that is soft and smooth and totally gorgeous - and all made possible with just a few select bottles!  I love how Desavery recreates the image of simplicity and makes skinimalism seem so luxurious, and the holistic approach is something I respect.

But what about each of the products themselves?  Let's dive into these eco friendly skincare goodies and see how they really fare!

Dream Oil Cleanser:

I may not be a huge fan of oil cleansers on the whole, but I do appreciate the ease they offer when it comes to removing SPF, makeup, and other hard to shift residues.  For that reason, I always have a luxurious bottle or two on hand - and the Dream Oil Cleanser is now in that rotation!  With a blend of camellia seed, jojoba, sunflower, and castor oils that soften and smooth the skin and a mix of relaxing rose, ylang ylang, frankincense, and spikenard, this is a formula that is perfectly crafted for the end of the day.  It's ideal for prepping the mind for bed while also resetting the delicate facial skin so you can wake up refreshed and restored.

The texture is unusual, with a medium bodied feel that locks onto daily grime and makes easy work of melting away the wear and tear of the day.  It isn't one that glides around like silk, but that makes it easier to control if you want to only use it on particular areas - for someone with fussy skin like mine this is a great perk!  And the smell is fully present yet remains delicate and dreamy.  I love the aroma as it is so unique - both sharp and sweet, herbal and floral, full of tranquility and hope.  It's beautiful, and it really makes this natural oil cleanser stand out.  Plus, it leaves your face feeling so well taken care of.  This is a lovely product, and one I am going to enjoy throughout the seasons.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Nardostachys Jata-mansi (Spikenard) Oil, Boswellia Caterii (Frankincense) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, d-Limonene*, Cananga odorata (Ylang Ylang) oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Linalol*, Rosa Centi-folia (Rose) Flower Oil, Benzyl Benzoate*, Citral*, Farnesol*
*naturally occurring ingredients/ all ingredients are certified organic

Desavery Smooth Hyaluronic Acid held up in front of flower blossoms on a tree

Smooth Hyaluronic Acid:

Desavery actually offers two different hyaluronic acids in their all natural minimalist range - a Clary Sage & Bergamot version and Lime and Geranium option.  Both contain the same base of Sodium hyaluronate, salicylic acid, and glycerin, but have a combination of added essential oils for wellbeing benefits.  I received the grounding clary sage and bergamot bottle, and I have been loving the dual action properties.  It's both calming and uplifting, with sharp top notes that cut through the scent and enliven your senses and a subtle sweetness that lingers beneath the surface.  It's unexpected, impactful, and a delight to breathe in.

As is normal for a natural hyaluronic acid, the formula is lightweight and free from any slick or sticky residues.  It absorbs quickly and leaves you free to carry on with the remainder of your ritual, making it a super quick addition that really helps to improve hydration, plump up the face, and minimize any fine lines.  And despite the essential oils, I do find that the Smooth Hyaluronic Acid is still pretty gentle!  It's a wonderful compliment to my morning and evening routine, and I'm definitely happy to have had this Desavery discovery.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium hyaluronate**, Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid**, Glycerin**, Sorbic Acid**, Salvia sclarea (clary sage) oil*, Citrus bergamia (bergamot) oil*.

Desavery Lit! Daily Serum held up in front of a philodendron micans on a bookshelf

Lit! Daily Serum:

Desavery brings something positively fresh with their Lit! Daily Serum - with a bright and uplifting aroma made unique by tangy yuzu, the treatment is one that will revitalize both your skin and your senses.  The organic serum captures a sunny disposition in every way, from the crisp yellow colour to the fairly lightweight texture on the skin.  It also brings a gorgeous glow to dull complexions, and adds a bright and radiant appearance that totally transforms tired or winter worn faces.  Plus, the juicy scented serum sinks in nicely and leaves skin looking and feeling soft, silky, and moisturized.

I do find that the recommended usage is a bit too much for me personally - the four to five drops is far too much for my skin, and I think just a couple is ideal for massaging into my face and neck.  And while it is a bit strong due to the essential oils within the formula, the Lit! Daily Serum is a lovely product packed with restorative prickly pear, brightening Vitamin K, and essential antioxidants.  This is one that works to fuse aromatherapy and skincare beautifully, and is a treatment that will give a boost without leaving any greasy residue.  It's certainly ideal for those wanting something unexpected and bursting with positive vibes!

Ingredients:  Opuntia Ficus-Indica (prickly pear) Seed,Oil, Rosa Canina (rosehip) Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera (camellia) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (grape) Seed Oil, Limonene, Limnanthes Alba (meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (lime) Oil, Citrus Paradisi (grapefruit) Peel Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (geranium) Flower Oil, Citronellol, Citrus Junos (yuzu) Fruit Oil, Geraniol, Rosmarinus Officinalis (rosemary) Leaf Oil, Linalool, Citral.
All ingredients are certified organic except for yuzu.

Desavery Stellar Daily Serum with the oil dropping from the applicator

Stellar Daily Serum:

While Lit! may be bursting with sunshine energy, Stellar is a softer sister with positive vibes and a relaxing core.  This organic daily serum aims to life your mood and induce calm with the clever blend of grapefruit, yuzu, lime, rosemary, and geranium essential oils, and as you breathe in Desavery's magic you will feel a restored sense of balance overcome you.  And as you massage in the lightweight treatment, your skin will thank you too!

Prickly pear, rosehip, grapeseed, and camellia work to inject a much needed dose of vitamins, fatty acids, and antioxidants into tired skin, and you will begin to see a transformation in your complexion in no time.  Stellar Daily Serum is all about improving elasticity, brightening, encouraging collagen production, boosting cell renewal, and enhancing protection.  Like the other serums, I find I need to adapt the amount I use (just a few drops instead of the recommended 4-5), but when I do so this nourishing organic serum works like a dream.  No clogged pores, no greasy finish, and no irritation - just glowing goodness morning and night.

Ingredients: Opuntia ficus-indica (prickly pear) oil, Rosa canina (rosehip) oil, Camellia oleifera (camellia) seed oil, Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, Limnanthes Alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, Salvia sclarea (clary sage) oil, Citrus Bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil, Limonene, Linalool, Boswellia carterii (frankincense) oil, Geraniol*

Desavery Pure Botanical Serum with oil held within a dropper above the bottle and books and plants on either side

Pure Botanical Serum:

With the natural and organic ingredients you expect from Desavery and a sweet earthy scent that feels at one with the planet, this intensively nourishing oil is a dream for sensitive skin.  The Pure Botanical Serum is full bodied, sinking into skin slowly and leaving a dewy finish that looks simply stunning.  It's so lush, with an incredibly gentle approach and super silky texture that quenches thirsty skin and leaves it looking and feeling fresh, soft, and replenished.  The blend of prickly pear, rosehip, camellia, grape seed, and meadowfoam seed oils is perfect for promoting collagen production and restoring elasticity, and it brings a plump and healthy appearance to the complexion.  Plus, the organic serum works to target fine lines over time!

The fragrance free Pure Botanical Serum is definitely heavier than the other serums, and I noticed I needed to adjust my application (again, 4-5 drops is just too much for me), however once I did my skin decided it was the perfect fit.  I adore this product in my evening routine in particular as I find it very soothing for both skin and senses.  Desavery's formula really helps with sensitivity so it's great as a short term treatment when giving your face a break from actives, but it is also such a wonderful daily oil that you will want to incorporate it into your permanent ritual.

Ingredients: Opuntia ficus-indica (prickly pear) oil, Rosa canina (rosehip) oil, Camellia oleifera (camellia) seed oil, Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, Limnanthes Alba (meadowfoam) seed oil.
Certified Organic Ingredients.

Desavery Garrigue Body Oil on top of a white linen pouch and a bright multi colour silk fabric

Garrigue Body Oil:

I love a good natural moisturizer, and so I was excited to see what Desavery would deliver with their Garrigue Body Oil.  This particular product is named for the inspiration that led to its creation, and I really found myself connecting with the story behind it: "Garrigue is the name given to the sun-baked hills above the Mediterranean in Provence. Home to wild figs, juniper, lavender and cypress, it's where we sourced all of our ingredients for this nourishing body oil."  It definitely brings a hint of romance and a dose of holiday fun, and because of this the organic body oil immediately won me over.

I do think this is a bit pricy for the size, but the formula itself is gorgeous and it comes in a lightweight reusable linen pouch.  From the texture that glides with ease to the aroma that straddles the boundary between herbal and floral - it's soft yet wild, a little mysterious, and brings an immediate jolt of happiness to the system.  And the organic body moisturizer itself is pure delight, with a big hit of omega 3, 6, and 9 that help nourish and heal.  Garrigue is a product that is designed to even skin tone, hydrate, increase moisture retention, and gently exfoliate (with the help of a natural enzyme within fig oil), and it certainly has caught my attention!

Ingredients: Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil*, Ficus Carica (Fig Seed) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut) Oil*, Oryza Sativa (Rice Bran) Oil, Citrus Aurantium (Bergamot) Oil*, Pelargonium Roseum (Rose Geranium) Oil , Lavandula hybrida (Lavandin) Oil*, Juniperus communis (Juniperberry) Oil, Cupressis sempervirens (Cypress) Leaf Oil, Geraniol, Citral, Limonene, Linalool.
*Certified Organic Ingredients

Desavery is definitely a luxury brand, but it is also one that understands the importance of minimalism, eco friendly ingredients, ethical sourcing, and naturally effective treatments.  I adore the efforts they are making to produce high end quality products that are also low impact when it comes to the environment and human health, and for this reason they have really wowed me.

I love that their skinimalist range surprises me with unusual scents and multi-tasking properties, and the organic serums, natural oil cleanser, cruelty free body oil, and vegan hyaluronic acids are definitely memorable and worth checking out.  They saturate your senses with positivity, tranquility, and balance, and set out to heal and restore your skin with every single drop.  That's most definitely special!

Have you tried Desavery skincare yet?  Which product is your stand out, or which are you curious to test out first??  I would love to know!

And if you have any questions about this natural range of minimalist beauty, do ask!  I'm always up for a chat xx
