Cleanser Creations - Dafna's Personal Skincare Review *

Hands up if you are a fan of Dafna's creations!  Well, today's post will be highlighting two of my favourites: their Recovery Cleanser and their Purify Cleanser!

Dafna's skincare cleansers - Purify and Recovery review

Dafna's Personal Skincare is an award winning luxury skincare brand made in Spain that values honesty, effectiveness, passion, and responsibility.  Their formulations use 100% pure and bio essential oils, clean biotechnology, and certified ingredients, many of which are organic!  And of course they are cruelty free and free from all the common nasties, like all brands featured here on The ecoLogical.  What's not to love??

One thing that sets Dafna's apart is their belief in going beyond skin deep.  They proudly state that all of their products "undergo Ayurvedic philosophy: (Ayur’ = life, Veda=knowledge), the body and mind are directly related and we believe in the power of the mind to transform and heal the body."  That's why they developed their DR2 Wellbeing Line, a range that fuses science and nature to achieve high quality skincare that targets a variety of needs, from dehydration to stressed cells.

Want the 411 on their DR2 Wellbeing Line?  Check it out!:

"We have developed a series of formulas, under the DR2 Wellbeing line, to combat the extrinsic and intrinsic factors of: free radicals, dehydration and intrinsic stress that cause skin early ageing and accumulated damages. // The DR2 Wellbeing line products are composed of more than 40 active ingredients, with the best quality and concentration (11-25 actives per product) that work in synergy.
⦁ DETOXPurify your skin. We help you fight free radicals and oxidation. It provides vitality and protection to the cells of your skin and body and helps to preserve cellular DNA.
⦁ REPAIR: Ingredients that repair and minimize the signs of ageing of the skin such as pigmentation, fine lines, flaccid skin
⦁ DESTRESS: Ingredients that fight intrinsic oxidative stress, which is the second main cause for early ageing skin look. Providing feeling of wellness and balance.
⦁ RECHANGE: Ingredients that recharge the cells with energy and help enhance the Collagen and Elastin, which are the skin building blocks, production and synthesis."

This luxury range covers all the key products, including serum, eye care, cleanser, moisturizer, face masks, and more.  I've actually reviewed several of their green goodies here on the blog before, including the Moisture + Light and a handful of minis.  And today I'm branching out once again and taking a closer look at their selection of cleansers!

I was sent the Purify Cleanser as part of the LLABP a while back, and I have been testing it ever since, and then I got the Recovery Cleanser delivered from The Green Jungle Beauty Shop to my parents house for my visit home so I wouldn't have to pack anything on the way there (sadly they no longer seem to stock Dafna's skincare, so I'm glad I grabbed it before they were gone!).  Both cleansers are lovely, and offer their own unique benefits, and I'm so happy I've had the chance to test both separately to see how they compare.

Dafna's Purify Cleanser review

Purify Cleanser:
Dafna's answer to blemish prone skin, Purify is a sensorial treat that is ideal for those looking for a lightweight cleanser.  Packed full of antioxidants and beneficial natural oils, this all natural and vegan friendly formula is a delight for the face.

"Leaves skin looking clear, glowing and provides feeling of freshness. Indulgently formulated with eight natural oils and nutrients as Ayurvedic Pomegranate extract, MelaCareTM oil and Geranium essential oil to allow soft cleansing experience. Removes everyday impurities and unclogs the pores, fights free radicals and the appearance of spots. Help to reduce hormonal acne."

This product is so beautiful, from the appearance to the feel.  The cleanser is a rich earthy terracotta shade due to the inclusion of pomegranate extract, making it look so familiar and homey.  It's rustic, yet high end, and the aroma brings everything together with its gentle citrus notes.  The scent is so comforting and helps to lift your spirits as you wash away the day.  It's slightly sweet and juicy, but also gentle so it doesn't overwhelm you at all, making this a fab pick day or night.

With a lovely lotion-like texture, you would expect Dafna's Purify Cleanser to not be super moisturizing based on the consistency - but that's not the case at all.  In fact, the thin gel is surprisingly silky and leaves your skin soft and totally smooth thanks to the olive oil within.  But don't fret - it's not heavy or greasy at all.  There is no residue and no slick feeling left behind.  Every time I use this product I just look forward to having lovely glowing skin!

One thing I really like about this cleanser is that it doesn't foam.  There are no bubbles, no suds, just the glossy lotion that rinses off with ease.  This means your skin never feels stripped or dry after use, and I find I waste less water since I am not fighting to get 'soapy' product off my face.  Just a simple swipe with a muslin or a quick splash or two and I'm good to go.  Just my jam!

I definitely noticed my skin looking more smooth and bright after a week or so of using Purify, and my cheeks and forehead in particular were clearer.  I prefer this as part of my morning routine, as I find it really helps wake me up and sets a great mood for the day, plus it leaves me feeling fresh and looking luminous.  It's not rich, so it is perfect for creating a clean slate in which you can apply the rest of your products.   All in all, it's a fantastic cleanser that delivers on all levels, and it has definitely won my respect and a place on my skincare shelf.

Dafna's Recovery Cleanser review

Recovery Cleanser:
Recovery is the mirror of Purify in every way, from packaging to texure.  Rather than coming inside of a traditional pump bottle, this comes inside a sturdy glass jar.  Why?  Well, unlike the lightweight gel-lotion consistency of its sister product, this cleanser is actually a lush balm.

Don't be fooled when you twist of the lid - this isn't honey.  The rich, velvety nectar inside is a fusion of calendula, moringa, bamboo, sage, along with uplifting essential oils.  It has such an eye catching ochre colour that evokes the hearty qualities of the ingredients within, and it really draws you in.

Unlike Purify, the Recovery Cleanser is an ultra-nourishing product designed to nurture and heal.  I adore using this in the evenings, even through the hottest summer nights, as it does such an amazing job of soothing my face and totally rejuvenating my complexion after long days out in the sun.  Normally I put balms on hold until the winter, as my skin is not dry nor does it do great with heavy products, but Dafna's is in a whole different ballpark.  The cleanser itself is incredibly rich, but not clawing at all.  It doesn't cling, it isn't greasy, and it leaves your skin feeling so full and healthy - it's just what you want when your face is feeling a bit tight and dehydrated from the summer heat!

I apply a pea size amount of balm, massaging it all over my cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose (and a little on my neck too using whatever is leftover), then let it sit for a few minutes so I can breathe in the gorgeous aroma and let the oils work their magic.  Recovery has such warming notes that tenderly lift your spirits - calming lavender, stress relieving orange, and brain boosting rosemary all work together to form one complete scent that hugs your mind and soothes your spirit.  It's a complex smell that is both sweetly citrus and herbal, and it's such a treat.  Sometimes I even leave Dafna's cleanser on for 20-30 minutes to turn my quick wash into a moisturizing and aromatherapeutic mask session!

When it is time to rinse off, I first gently splash my face with warm water, letting the balm melt further into a potion that is velvety soft.  Again, I love that this cleanser doesn't foam, but instead it transforms into a milk that just glides away.  It's beautiful, and I appreciate it so much.  And if I feel like there is any product left on my skin, I usually then take a muslin to wipe away the excess, but if I'm needing extra moisture I just leave it on to continue healing my skin overnight.

I've been really impressed by Dafna's Recovery Cleanser, as it hasn't left me with a single breakout and it always leaves my skin feeling incredible.  As odd as it is for me, I actually think this might just be my favourite of the duo, as it's so different from what I usually choose.  This formula is purely indulgent, and healing in so many ways, and I can see this becoming a staple in my skincare routine.

Dafna's cleansers - Purify and Recovery review

Overall, Dafna's has continued to wow me with their luxurious creations, and I'm so keen to keep on trying their range.  There hasn't been a single item so far that I categorically did not like, and in fact several of their green goodies have been such a great treat for my skin.  I'll definitely continue to incorporate both of these beautiful cleansers into my routine, as they make my face look and feel fabulous.

Have you tried any products from Dafna's yet??  What about these cleansers?  I would love to know which is your favourite, and how your skin responds to either Recovery or Purify.  Let me know! xx
