Love Lula Beauty Box: July 2019 Review *

Another month gone, another Love Lula Beauty Box to enjoy! And July's was an absolute success – possibly my favourite from them yet!

Worth over £90, this box was an absolute star in my opinion.  Inside subscribers of the beauty box found five items: one discovery set with four travel friendly bottles inside, and three full sizes.  I can't find a single fault with this edit, and I have been enjoying each and every product within the collection since it arrived.  Love Lula have achieved the perfect mix of luxury brands and more budget friendly green goodies, and all are natural formulations!  Plus, we get a great selection of international creations alongside UK brands that we know and love.

Just check out this incredible box!:

No matter how I have received a product, whether it has been purchased with my own money, gifted by a brand, been subsidized by a brand, won, gifted by friends/family, or purchased with a gift voucher, my approach is always the same -- honesty, integrity, and highlighting both the good and the bad.  You can find more information on Disclosures and Privacy here.

Featuring four mini size vegan friendly products, this try me kit is the perfect introduction to the award winning Spanish natural brand and is a fab way to try out several of their popular formulas. Including the Active Mist, Moisture Light, Purify Cleanser, and Eye Cream, you've got a full facial ready for you to test out – and all housed inside a super cute clutch!

Active Mist (15ml): A refreshing and even spray that helps brighten and refresh both your skin and your senses. Yes, it offers fab benefits for skin, but it also boasts aromatherapeutic qualities thanks to the botanicals and flower oils found within this facial mist. I will definitely need to pick up a full size of the Active Mist if I want to provide full thoughts, as it is so difficult to just give 'impressions' of a product.  I like to give a minimum of four weeks before I share definitive opinions, as my skin can be fussy and I like to see results before making recommendations (or before dismissing a formula!).  That being said, I have enjoyed Dafna's toner so far, and find it gentle enough for my semi-sensitive skin. When I apply, I feel my skin soothed and hydrated, and my mind relaxes a little too.  The coolness of the mist is delightful in this hot season, and I could see this becoming a staple in my routine if I picked up a big bottle.

Love Lula Beauty Box July 2019 - Dafna's Skincare Review

Eye Care (5ml): This eye cream was a welcome addition into my routine, and I've really enjoyed the sample from July's Love Lula Beauty Box. While it is small, you only need to use a small amount so the mini size should last you longer than you'd expect. With so many stressful things going on lately, I've found my undereyes have taken a bit of a beating, but I'm always hesitant to bring eye creams into my routine as most I've tried in the past have clogged the area and have given me more issues rather than fixed my dark circles or refreshed the skin. But that's not the case here I found. Dafna's Eye Care is more of a serum consistency than a traditional cream, making it suitable for all skin types. It's packed with nourishing and hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, rosehip, calendula, and hibiscus extract, and it really helps perk up the undereyes, reduce puffiness, and even reduce fine lines. This is definitely a product I will need to investigate further with a full size!

Ingredients: Aqua**, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Glycerin*****, Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil*, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil**, Cetyl Alcohol*****, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil**, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil**, Xanthan Gum*****, Propanediol*****, Sodium Hyaluronate*****, Calendula Officinalis Extract*, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract**, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein Extract*****, Cichorium Intybus (Chicory) Root Oligosaccharides**, Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum*****, Caprylhydroxamic Acid****, Tocopherol**, Gluconolactone*****, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil***, Linalool****, Geraniol****, Citronellol****, Citral****. * Bio certified ingredeint ** 100% pure botanical source *** 100% pure essential oil **** Natural derived oil constituents ***** Certified botanical derived.

Moisture Light (10ml):Another formula that is perfect for the summer season, Moisture Light is a calming lightweight moisturizer that utilizes the power of argan oil, hyaluronic acid, calendula, fig, neroli, rosemary, and more to hydrate and uplift the delicate facial skin. The cream absorbs so quickly, and it is not greasy at all, so it's fab for when you will be on the go and don't want to look shiny. The revitalizing fusion of ingredients helps give a radiance boost that will help you glow all summer long, but it also keeps your skin soft and healthy too! It's a lovely skin treat, and one that I have enjoyed in the past, especially in warmer weather!

Ingredients: Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil**, Glycerin*****, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil**, Glyceryl Stearate*****, Cetearyl Alcohol*****, Propanediol*****, Sodium Hyaluronate***** , Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract*, Hedera Helix Leaf Extract**, Mimosa Tenuiflora Bark**, Ficus Carica Fruit Extract**, Rosa Damascena Flower Water**, Cera Alba**, Plantago Major Leaf Extract**, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract*, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*, Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Oil*, Potassium Palmitoyl *****, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein*****, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil*, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract**, Sorbitol*****, Xanthan Gum*****, Cetyl Alcohol*****, Caprylhydroxamic Acid*****, Tocopherol***, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil**, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil***, Citral****, Eugenol**** , Maltodextrin, Geraniol****, Silica, Citronellol****, Linalool****, Limonene***** * Bio certified ingredeint ** 100% pure botanical source *** 100% pure essential oil **** Natural derived oil constituents ***** Botanical derived. Ecocert certified.

Purify Cleanser (10ml): I actually got a full size of this cleanser courtesy of the LLABP recently, so I will be gifting this sample bottle to someone who has not had the chance to try it before – I love being able to give back when I can and introduce great green brands to those searching for options! The cleanser is seriously perfect for this time of year, as it is pretty lightweight and doesn't weigh down the skin at all. With eight natural oils like geranium, sweet orange, and pomegranate extract, this cleansing lotion works to clear up the skin, generate a natural glow, and reduce the appearance of spots by unclogging pores and removing impurities. It has such an interesting colour to it, and I find it's working really well for my congestion prone but semi-sensitive skin.

Want to know more about this summer-friendly formula? Keep an eye out for my comparison review coming soon!

Ingredients: Aqua**, Glycerin****, Propanediol****, Cocamido Propyl Betaine****, Eremanthus Erythropappus Branch/Leaf Oil**, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil**, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil**, Sodium Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate****, Caprylhydroxamic Acid****, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil*, Oxalis Triangularis Oil**, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil**, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract (Pomegrant**), Xanthan Gum***, Silt**, Coconut Acid****, Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine****, Salicylic Acid****, Mica**, Citronellol***, Linalool***, Limonene***, Geraniol***. * 100% pure essential oil ** 100% pure botanical source *** Natural essential oil constituents **** Certified botanical derived ingredient.

My only complaint is about the packaging itself – I don't think any of these plastic tubes are recyclable, nor are they reusable. I hate this sort of waste, so wasn't super pleased about that aspect. The products themselves are fantastic (and full sizes all come in classy glass bottles), but I definitely have to take off points for the plastic problems. Did this bother you too?

I'm really enjoying the Recovery Cleanser at the moment, as I find the balm-like texture so soothing after days in the sun and it is also very healing.  I'm also eying up the Bio Active Beauty Mask!

I adore many of the products within the Kathleen Natural range, including their gorgeous bubble baths and soothing massage oils, so of course I was excited to try another one of their skincare products! Love Lula's July box included a full size bottle of the Cleansing Lotion, a 100% natural and 80% organic lightweight formula that is suitable for all skin types.

Love Lula Beauty Box July 2019 - Kathleen Natural Cleansing Lotion Review

The cleansing lotion does not have a strong scent, but it is unique - very slightly sweet, which was not what I was originally expecting.  For most products, I prefer distinct scents (of roses, or earthy frankincense, or uplifting neroli...) or else I'd rather it be fragrance free.  But this one is much more understated and hard to pin down.  Despite that it is very refreshing, and of course the aroma doesn't affect how the formula feels on the skin.

The cleansing lotion is thin with a smooth texture, lightweight, and super easy to use since it is not oily.  It applies nicely, spreading evenly across the face and gently nourishing your skin as you use it. I love that I can just rinse it off without the need for a muslin, as there are days I prefer to avoid exfoliation altogether, and this has a consistency that allows me to quickly wash off and not scrub.

Packed with six active botanical ingredients, including tamanu, rose water, and avocado, Kathleen Natural's cleanser aims to purify as well as repair.  Again, I think this was the perfect pick to include in July's Love Lula Beauty Box, as it is ideal for summer!  I can wash off the grime of the day, soothe my skin after being in the sun all day, and get it all fresh and ready for another warm day - all without any fuss! This has been a lovely discovery so far, and I will continue to test it out as the months go by.

P.s. a spotlight on Kathleen Natural skincare range is coming to The ecoLogical soon!

Ingredients: Aqua, organic vegetable glycerin***, organic tamanu (calophyllum inophyllum) seed oil***, organic avocado (persea gratissima) oil***, organic rosa damascena flower water***, organic lavandula angustifolia flower water***, emulsifying wax (cetearyl alcohol & polysorbate 60)*, potassium oleate**, palm stearic acid*, xanthan gum*, lemon (citrus limon) extract*, potassium citrate*, citric acid*, potassium cocoate**, benzyl alcohol*, dehydroacetic acid*, benzoic acid*, sorbic acid*, parfum ***licensed by Soil Association **organic origin *natural plant origin

Further Recommendations:
Definitely the bath and shower gels, as they're so lovely to use after a long day, and the Tranquil Fields body oil is fab for relieving stress.

Madara is a recurring brand within the Love Lula Beauty Box, and while I have tried loads of their masks and a handful of their face and body care range, I have not actually used any of their lip products. So imagine my delight when I found a full size tube of the Plum Plum Lip Perfection Balm inside of July's collection!

Love Lula Beauty Box July 2019 - Madara Plum Plum Lip Perfection Balm Review

Plum Plum is a fairly thick sheer balm that glides on smoothly, almost like a thick gloss, and it softens your lips for hours once you apply. The consistency is great, not gritty at all, and it isn't very sticky which was a huge plus for me. I can't stand super wet products as my hair ends up clinging to them and getting all over the place – just no fun! So the fact that this stays in place and doesn't make a mess is a great bonus.

The lip balm is moisturizing, absorbs well, and really softens your lips. I find it also plumps too, making this a great base for other products if you want a pop of colour. It smells fairly sweet, with notes of red fruits, vanilla, and marzipan, making it a great pick for summer, especially hot days where you want something that is going to revive your senses and lift up your spirits a bit.

I have been enjoying Madara's Lip Perfection Balm since opening my July beauty edit from Love Lula, especially since it is so handy to pop in your pocket when on the go. I'm super pleased I finally got to try this balm, and I could see this becoming a fast favourite!

Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil Cera Alba Sorbitan Olivate Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit Butter Aroma Prunus Domestica (Plum) Seed Oil Tocopherol Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil Propolis Extract Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea-buckthorn) Fruit Extract Chamomilla Recutita (Camomile) Flower Extract Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract Stevia Extract CI 77491 (Iron oxide) Limonene Linalool Citral Geraniol

Further Recommendations:
I have tried a LOT of Madara products thanks to Love Lula.  You can find my thoughts on various formulas by clicking the "Madara" tag at the bottom of this post if you are interested in reading more about the brand and what they offer.  One of my stand outs is the Active AHA Brightening Peel Mask, and also the Smart Antioxidants range which works amazing on drier and more mature skin types.

I have actually had the joy of using this beautiful oil previously, and so when I opened the box and saw a travel size bottle of Skin Alchemists' Sesenne I knew this box was extra special. This is a luxury product, and one that I am so delighted all subscribers get to experience for themselves.

Pure, potent, plant based potions – that's the philosophy of Skin Alchemists. Founder Theresa works to bring you an experience that is unique and indulgent, handcrafting micro batches to ensure freshness and the ultimate efficacy. Everything within the range is created using proprietary formulations that are “conjured using the highest grade, nutrient-rich, raw ingredients, each purposefully chosen to deliver an intended result.”

And for Sesenne, that result is to nourish, repair, calm, brighten, and rejuvenate the skin!

Love Lula Beauty Box July 2019 - Skin Alchemists Sesenne Facial Elixir Review

How? By drawing on the power of 26 potent all natural elements, like cell-reviving rose otto and rose de mai, jasmine and myrrh which soften and improve texture, and wrinkle-fighting frankincense and cocoa which help improve elasticity. You'll also find skin illuminators like carrot seed, geranium and lime, plus nature's own retinol – cacay seed oil, rosehip, chia seed, pumpkin, blackseed, prickly pear, and sea buckthorn! Each works to heal and renew your complexion both on the surface and from deeper within.

I find Sesenne helps manage my hormonal acne, plus it is so deeply nourishing – it's like a pick me up in a bottle! While you would think this oil would be incredibly rich based on the golden colour, it actually absorbs really well and isn't greasy on the surface of your skin at all. The facial elixir is smooth and delicate, and decadent in all the right ways, with a super soothing scent perfect for a pamper session.

Skin Alchemists' formulation is a sensorial treat, one to be savoured slowly like a fine wine – but it is also totally practical, and that's why I love it. For me, there is no point to skincare that is only used on special occasions – it should be celebrated and work its magic every single day to bring you the skin you so desire. Sesenne brings to mind luxury, but it's something that is super effective and delivers real results every time you apply. And that's real beauty.

P.S. a more in depth look at Skin Alchemists is coming soon!

I adore Skin Alchemists' The Gorgeous Solider body scrub, as it smells so scrumptious and is incredibly nourishing.  I also picked up a bottle of their cleansing oil, Humble Warrior, recently and am finding it just as gorgeous as the other creations Theresa has perfected.  Next on my wishlist is Lady Helen Facial Nectar!
