But what is this mask actually like?  Does it live up to all this hype??

Well, in short -- yes!

The mask itself embodies the meaning of luxury in every way, from its appearance, how it applies, and of course the end results.  It even comes with a beautiful wooden spatula/spoon that elevates the whole thing that little bit more!  Plus, this way you can make sure the mask stays nice and hygienic.

Inside the jar the product is a moody shade that looks jet black, but once you begin to play you realize it is actually a ultra glossy creation that straddles the boundary between a gel and a thick jelly-like balm.  It has a bit of spring to it, and when you spread Detoxify out a bit the raven tone shifts to a stylish grey - you can't help but think it is pretty cool!  The aroma enhances that feeling too, as it has a soft scent that isn't too in your face but provides a mental boost thanks to the marriage of citrus, rosemary, and East-Indian lemongrass.  It's such a refined smell, striking the perfect balance of peaceful notes and uplifting qualities that lift your mood and help your mindset.

On first touch, this mask feels rich, and because of this it spreads evenly and so easily.  There isn't any effort in applying to your whole face, and the smooth cool sensation is such a treat at the end of a long day.  And despite the glossiness of the texture, it doesn't feel sticky on the skin - instead, it gives a much needed boost of moisture without the slick oiliness of a traditional nourishing formula.

The real magic starts when it is time to remove the product though - after you are finished (2-3 minutes, or for a more intensive session 5-7 minutes), begin to rinse away with damp hands and very very lightly scrub the remains of the mask, spending time on the areas you wish to pay particular attention to and being extra delicate in spots you know are more sensitive.  As the water mixes with the formula, the silky balm will transform into a milky texture that glides with ease and just melts away.  I really appreciate that you do not need to use a cloth to remove, as I find any added exfoliation after a treatment like this can irritate my face - no worries with Dafna's!

This is such a fast acting but effective treatment, and my skin feels super soft, velvety, and replenished after I wash away the final bits.  I love how glowy and fresh my face looks, and the fact that I have not experienced any sensitivity while using this is brilliant - I often struggle with chemical peels and abrasive exfoliants, so the fact I can use this successfully without any side effects is a huge win.  I just can't help but be impressed by Detoxify.
