Re:Connection Skincare is a natural UK beauty brand that takes inspiration from Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, and I couldn't be happier that I had the chance to discover their range of cruelty free and vegan friendly green goodies!

Based in London, Re:Connection aims to bring people and nature back together, improve customer's understanding of natural remedies, and provide quality skincare that nourishes the skin and stimulates the senses.  Founder Karolina also has the long term goal of educating about ingredients in conventional products that have the potential to negatively impact the planet.  She states that, "the same way many of us care about the food that nourishes us, we should make equally informed decisions about what goes into our bodies through our skin."  And I wholeheartedly agree!

Re:Connection currently offers a selection of cleansers, serums, and deodorants, all of which are free from palm oil and utilize pure and simple plant based ingredients to achieve effective results.  You won't find any emulsifiers, stabilisers, preservatives (these are all water free so having no preservatives is safe!), or additives in their formulations, so what you see is what you get - no nasty surprises!


I was kindly sent a bottle of the Healing Facial Serum to test and review for you lovelies, and I was so excited to delve into what this formula for blemished and acne-prone skin offered.

"Acne? Breakouts? Blemishes? We’ve got you covered. This facial serum has been handcrafted to tackle these skin imperfections. A carefully selected combination of oils, extracts and essential oils will fight inflammation and rebalance your skin."

The blend includes a mix of nourishing, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative oils, including hemp, neem, blueberry seed, jojoba, and sunflower, as well as Vitamin E, hydration boosting squalane, calming calendula extract, and beautiful essential oils.  Together they all work to heal your skin, boost radiance, and clear up your complexion - and all with just a few drops!

First, I have to say the packaging and design is lovely.  The bottle is generously sized at 50ml (many serums are smaller, offered in 15-30ml bottles), and the amber glass makes such a nice contrast against the seafoam green and white label.  Everything you need to know is included on the bottle, from easy to follow instructions and the full ingredient list to the benefits of the blend and the ethos of the brand.  Re:Connection makes it so simple, and I appreciate that.


The serum itself is on the thicker side, but it is by no means too heavy or overly slick - in fact, I was surprised by how well it sinks in and how quickly it absorbs.  The rich golden hue gives a great first impression, and hints at the restorative properties within the liquid drops.  My skin definitely feels treated after I apply the Healing Facial Serum, and after massaging the product in I can tell my face is soothed and softened from the blend of nurturing oils.

I have to admit the one thing I was not as keen on with the Re:Connection serum was the scent.  To me it is quite pungent, with neem carrying through the top of the aroma.  I actually like the smell of neem (in moderation), as the garlicky notes are weirdly soothing and I find the savory qualities totally unique.  However, as I have like a million houseplants, I often use neem as a preventative for pests and therefore associate the scent with my DIY concoction.  The Healing Facial Serum isn't unpleasant in any way, it's just very heady and potent, and it lingers for some time.

That being said, the lavender and palmarosa definitely soften this up a bit and add additional calming herbal notes and benefits to the blend.  I find this formula from Re:Connections suits my purposes best in the evening as the aroma has that little bit of extra peace added in, plus I don't mind so much what my face smells like while I'm sleeping!

And to be honest, I am happy to accept the aroma even though it's not my favourite because the Healing Facial Serum is just so good.  I have been using this every day since Re:Connection sent it my way, and my skin has definitely been looking clearer.  There are noticeably less 'problem' areas, and I haven't had anywhere near the amount of breakouts as I normally do.  And it's not just me who has seen a difference in my complexion - just the other week Petra from Late Skin Party messaged me saying "Ooh Bryanna - your skin is looking amazing."  I wouldn't dare question the effectiveness of this serum after that!


This is such a lovely formula, and if you are needing a moisture boost as well as something that will help reduce blemishes, then the Healing Facial Serum is a product to try.  It glides across the skin, lasts absolute ages (seriously - it's been about a month of continuous use and I have barely dented the bottle!!), and really adds a refreshed glow to your face.  I have definitely been won over by Re:Connection, and I will be looking at trying out more of their range in future!
