VitaBella: Spa Treatment In A Box

A while back I decided to treat myself to something both luxurious and fun, and I ended up doing a box swap. Included was the perfect pick me up: an at home spa treatment!  It has taken me a while to find the time to finally use this, but it was definitely well worth the wait.

Not only does  VitaBella's Spa Treatment In A Box offer an affordable way into their products (only £20 for the set!), but the item also makes your pamper session into a relaxed activity so you can feel like you are doing a bit of DIY without all the hassle and mess.  And even better, this at home treatment actually seems to work!

Italian skincare brand VitaBella has a mission to help increase skin hydration without the use of synthetic chemicals.  Instead of common nasties, they utilize the power of nature to create effective small-batch products that target fine lines, elasticity, and any existing damage to the skin.  Their key ingredients are organic aloe vera, a plant high in natural compounds that soothe and act as an anti-inflammatory, and organic olive oil which helps provide a deeply nourishing hydration boost.  With the help of this dynamic duo, your skin is guaranteed some TLC.

In terms of layout, I love how easily accessible all the products are inside the Spa Treatment In A Box.  The three items are all clearly labelled, and you do not have to fight to get anything out of the set.  I do wish the jars were glass rather than plastic, but since there is not a lot of unnecessary plastic wrap or anything like that, it's something I accepted since all three containers are recyclable.  The instructions are pictured on the inside cover of the box, and the steps are so easy to follow I didn't have to reread over and over again like some other DIYs.

There are technically two products in this box: a 15ml deluxe size sample of the anti-aging face cream (50ml size is £30), and a two-step hydrating face sheet mask (set of 4 is £59) which is created by combining a complex with a pressed mask.

The face mask is intended to be used prior to the face cream, and is a single use product like most other sheet masks.  I think the idea of this mask is actually pretty clever, as the serum stays fresh inside the glass bottle rather than sitting on the cotton sheet inside a plastic/aluminium package.  Plus, it allows you to see just how much product is needed per mask - I liked this as it made me realize why these single use products are as costly as they are.  Who knew a mask required 13ml of liquid!

To create your VitaBella Spa Treatment, you simply pour the Hydration Complex over the mask 'tablet' and wait for the sheet to expand.  Then, you unfold the mask and place it over the face for ten minutes.  Easy!  It smells pretty nice - just a simple aloe scent, and it doesn't tingle or irritate the skin at all (at least for me).  The time went by pretty quickly, and I found this sheet mask didn't slide around as much as some of the others I have used in the past.  It still wasn't the perfect fit, but it usually isn't for this type of product!

The mask claims to increase skin hydration levels by up to 20% after one use, but I always find it difficult to notice such a difference after one time.  To be honest, I didn't feel as much of a difference as I was expecting, but when my partner came home he did comment on how 'glowy' my face was, so maybe that checks out?  I would definitely want a few more tries with this mask before I gave a final comment, but unfortunately the masks do not seem to be on Love Lula at this moment so I will have to wait.

The face cream is something I can much more readily get behind, as I could feel the difference and there was much more product to play around with.  VitaBella suggests to use this daily in order to "help maintain hydration levels and keep skin feeling and looking radiant."  The cream is a little heavy, so I opted to use it overnight rather than as a morning moisturizer, but it did not clog my pores which I was thankful for.  A little of this goes a long way since it is so rich, so this 15ml pot has lasted me about four weeks.

I do think that this item is ideal for winter, but since the weather is finally changing I think I would wait to buy again until the cold and windy months came back.  In another five to ten years I might find myself wanting VitaBella's face cream year round, but for now I don't think it is what my 26-year-old skin is needing.  I do love how healthy my face has been looking, but as I regularly use face oils I am not needing all the extra hydration right now.

Overall I was really pleased with the VitaBella Spa Treatment In A Box, as it gave me an opportunity to test out a brand I was not familiar with, have some fun 'creating' my own face mask, and really saved my skin after the horrible winter we have had.  I think I will definitely give VitaBella another go in the future, and I have already started eyeing up the Repair and Protect Gel for the summer months.

  5. Oh this looks really good. I love the idea of a spa in a box as I can't often make it to a real spa very often.

  7. This sounds good. I can't say I would spend £20 on a facemask though but I suppose with the moisturiser then the price is not so bad. I love the photo of you with the sheet mask!
